In a major development, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has been excluded from the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) chargesheet in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam. The ED has accused several prominent politicians and officials of granting loans to sugar factories without proper collateral, leading to a loss of over Rs. 1,000 crore to the bank. Ajit Pawar, who was the chairman of the MSCB at the time, was also under investigation for his alleged involvement in the scam. However, the ED has not named him in the chargesheet, much to the relief of his supporters.
